Leave behind the ‘Capital of the Highlands’ for a full day adventure through the rugged Highlands to the enchanting Isle of Skye. On this trip, it is as much about the journey to get there as it is about the island destination. Cast your eyes upon the world-famous Loch Ness and venture inside the iconic Eilean Donan Castle on an optional tour, before we arrive on the Isle of Skye.
Immerse yourself in the myths and magic of Skye. The ancient mountains, unique rock formations and dramatic coastline will take your breath away as we explore the Trotternish Peninsula, before our scenic drive back to Inverness.
*Please note that Eilean Donan Castle is closed on the following dates: November 1,4,10,11,18 and December 1st. On those dates, we still stop at the castle for photo opportunities.

"Our tour guide and driver Connor made this day trip to the Isle of Skye an unforgettable experience! He was well informed about Scottish history and very funny. One of the highlights was stopping to get up close and personal with some Highland Coos and their offspring. "
We depart the city of Inverness and drive alongside Loch Ness - home of the elusive monster – and onwards through the mountains towards the west coast. Majestic mountains give way to vast sea lochs, once used by Vikings as an access route to our lands. We stop at the romantic Eilean Donan Castle, where you have the option of doing a tour and learn about the castle’s intriguing history.
After crossing the Skye Bridge, your guide will entertain you with stories of local legends and folklore, as well as the true tales of rival clans and a fugitive prince. Enjoy lunch in the capital of the island on our stop in Portree, where you can visit the colourful harbour.
Marvel at the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and take in the last of Skye’s otherworldly landscape at the Quiraing before we return to the mainland. We arrive back into Inverness in the evening.
