Top Highland Tour Company Awarded 5-Stars
Edinburgh based tour company Highland Explorer Tours, has just received a 5-star award for its tours from Scotland’s national tourism body, VisitScotland.
After a highly successful launch last spring Highland Explorer Tours have enjoyed an extremely busy summer with record numbers of passengers. The 5 star quality tours at budget prices concept is proving popular with visitors to Scotland with fantastic feedback from both customers and the travel trade.

VisitScotland operates a highly successful quality assurance scheme, with teams of inspectors working year-round to assess standards for visitors. Raising standards and improving quality are central to efforts to improve and grow Scottish tourism.
Groundbreaking ECO Scheme for Highland Tours Launched
Edinburgh based midi-coach tour company Highland Explorer Tours, has launched a groundbreaking new Environmental Charity Offering scheme (ECO) for its passengers, Passengers booking onto their tours can make an optional £2 donation to leading Scottish environmental charities John Muir Trust (50%) and Trees For Life (50%). This donation will be 100% matched by Highland Explorer Tours.
Following discussions with both John Muir Trust and Trees For Life, this innovative scheme is a first in the market and demonstrates the company’s commitment to Scotland’s natural environment and culture.

The John Muir Trust is one of the country’s leading guardians of wild land and wildlife. It gives a great opportunity for people enjoying the excellent tours offered by the company to contribute towards the safeguarding and management of some of the wonderful scenery and landscapes they will see on their travels’.
Trees for Life are an award-wining charity working to restore the Caledonian Forest in the Highlands of Scotland. Alan Watson, Executive Director and Founder of Trees for Life said

The scheme makes helping the environment easy for their customers, and by matching the donations, Highland Explorer Tours are showing their commitment to Trees for Life’s work. After a highly successful launch last summer with fantastic feedback from both customers and the travel trade. Highland Explorer Tours are keen to build on this success with a number of exciting new tours for 2007. New tours include Whisky tasting in Highland Perthshire and trips to historic Stirling. Following the success of last summer’s day trips to Highland Games extra departures have also been announced.
