Edinburgh Airport is just 8 miles from the city centre and is easily accessible by public transport (duration 25-35 minutes.

From Edinburgh Airport to City Centre (and return)

  • A Taxi to the city centre will cost approxiamtely £25, which is fine if there are 3 or 4 of you sharing (they can take 5 people).
  • The cheapest way to travel is on the Air Link Bus, which costs £3 one-way and £5 return.

However we recommend travelling on the Edinburgh Shuttle, which has a fleet of 7-seat executive mini-coaches which depart every 10-15mins on a daily basis.  They operate a 'door-to-door' shared transport service from the airport to any address in the City Centre.  It's great value for money too, costing only £8 for an individual and if there are 2 or more of you going to the same destination, you save money.

  • Call: 0845 500 5000 and quote: 625
You can reserve your tickets up to 2 hours prior to pick-up time.  For bookings of more than 7 people, late bookings or if you cannot get your preferred time, please call the number above.

By Rail

Scotland's capital city is just a 4 to 5 hour journey by train from the centre of London.  Both GNER and Virgin Trains run regular services from most UK cities and large towns.  To view timetables and book tickets, visit www.NationalRail.co.uk.  Trains arrive at Edinburgh Waverley, right in the centre of the city and just a few minutes from our office on the Royal Mile (see map below)

By Car

There are two main routes in to the city from the south.  The M74 travels up the west side of the UK; from here, take the M8 and follow signs for Edinburgh City Centre.  Alternatively, the A1(M) will bring you in via Newcastle; follow the A1 to the City Bypass and then signs for the City Centre.

Parking is restricted in Edinburgh so we don’t recommend you bring your car in to the city.  It may be useful to check parking arrangements with your accommodation provider as some Edinburgh hotels provide parking facilities.  Alternatively there is covered parking at Waverley Train Station and an open air park-and-ride scheme available: see www.LothianBuses.co.uk.  Edinburgh is a relatively small city and is easily accessible on foot and by public transport and taxi.
