Explore stunning Highland Perthshire, big tree country. A land of forests, mountains, rivers and glens. Hear tales of the Jacobites, visit a whisky distillery and sample a dram of the malt.

Leave Edinburgh crossing over the Forth Bridges, our first stop is at the beautiful Hermitage where we take a Short woodland walk to spectacular waterfalls (including some of Britain's tallest trees), See Ossian’s cave and the unusual Victorian folly.

Next stop is the Victorian town of Pitlochry made famous by Queen Victoria who stayed at nearby Blair Castle in 1842. Situated beneath the mountains and on the river, Pitlochry was once one of the premier mountain resorts in the country. We enjoy a relaxing 2 hour lunch (not included) and an optional visit to a whisky distillery.  You can also visit the famous fish ladder where salmon can be seen leaping between April and October.

After lunch, we pass Killiecrankie, scene of the famous Jacobite victory in 1689.  Head west along beautiful Loch Tay to Killin and dramatic Falls of Dochart fed by the Highest peaks in the Southern Highlands. We then pass through The Trossachs National Park and past Doune and Stirling Castles before arriving back in Edinburgh early evening.
